Entrepreneurship in the Classroom:  Connection to the Workplace

By:  Lina S. Ingraham, MA

To many, the American Dream is to own a business.  Most businesses develop from a single idea by one creative individual; and most businesses are small, employing fewer than fifty people.  Can you imagine the students in your classroom operating their own business one day?  This curriculum provides your opportunity to lead the way; it includes background information and resources to establish school and classroom-based businesses that teach entrepreneurial skills. It provides worksheets for developing creative problem-solving projects, determining the entrepreneur personality, developing the business project, raising capital, hiring employees (the students), marketing, record keeping and assessing the final project.  Also includes legal business structures and an extensive resource list.  A great guide to teach skills for success in the workplace.
